Updating Internet Radio Sites
« on: July 15, 2009, 10:07:05 »
Since I've finished up the Yacht-Shots project I've been working on The Refinery Rock Radio and Fuel Radio more lately.

Last month I created some flyers to get handed out at Cornerstone by one of our forum members. They were double-sided, one side to promote The Refinery and the other side to promote Fuel. (Interested in seeing the images?)

This week I've been working on some new request functions. Normally, anyone can request a song (from our massive library) to be added to the request queue, which is eventually pulled into the play queue. Because of internet radio requirements, a majority of the time we have to delay the songs 1 hour. What our new feature will do is allow members a quick play option, which bypasses the hour delay. This option is only allowed a limited number of times, based on the membership level of the user, so that we don't violate those rules that we are required to follow. The cool thing is that people who are more active members on the site will get to make more quick play requests. Tom and I are very excited about this new stuff and hopefully we'll have it all in place within the next week or two.
"Hello IT. Have you tried turning it off and on again? ... OK, well, the button on the side. Is it glowing?... Yeah, you need to turn it on. Err, the button turns it on. Yeah, you do know how a button works, don't you? No, not on clothes." - Roy (The IT Crowd)
