Apparently I've joined the 21st century now by getting on Facebook.
The first thing I'll tell you about it is that I'm getting a ton of email from there now. I wonder if there is a "email digest" version of the notifications to send everything once each day instead of instantly. The other thing about it is that people I haven't talked to much recently, or subjects that haven't been discussed, are being brought up because Facebook displays messages saying that all kinds of new things are happening for me. Really, it's just me making changes and not catching how they are showing up on my profile page... such as me getting married.
Anyway, it looks fun but I should really stay away from that too since I don't really need another distraction.
I'm not sure if layout customization is an option, since everyone seems to have the same look. I guess that's a good thing though. In my opinion, MySpace is what Geocities used to be known for anyway with all the horrible designs. Speaking of horrible designs, I was wandering around some of the old pages of this site and saw some of my own bad design decisions from the past, such as text that blends in with the background. One of these days I'd really like to strip everything down and put a fresh skin on it all. Ha! Like I'm ever going to have time to do that. Maybe if I just get rid of the old repeating backgrounds it will be a reasonable compromise.
