Southbound and Down Loading Up and Truckin'
« on: August 29, 2011, 19:22:20 »
I've already talked individually to most of you guys, but just though I'd put it up here to get all the parts in one place.

Well, the grand experiment has failed... I came to Atlanta to try to make a go of my artsy dream.  The art part ended up being way less than planned, then eventually none at all, and I was unable to find another job that would allow me to sustain any of my own individual plans.

A mere month after ariving in Atlanta, Jason split with his long-time girlfriend and starting dating a new person.  New relationships have a way of changing older ones, and soon we weren't working together like we had planned.  On top of that, Jason ended up quitting his job of many years and so the plans he had to slowly build Red Rocket Farm to sustainability had to be acelerated, but without the extra income of his old job, he was not able to use me and instead all of his help came from his new live-in friend.

This all may sound a bit bitter, and maybe there is bitterness... but if there is, it's with the caveat of understanding.  I get it.  I'm also sure that my difficulty finding another job had the effect of making Jason feel guilty about taking any of my time away to work on his projects, and since most of his time was filled with projects, that means I barely got to even see the person that been one of the major draws for moving back here in the first place.

Anyway, now I've come to the end.  I've been trying unsuccessfully to even get Jason on the phone for the past few days so I can give him the paintings he left at my place when he moved in with Teeter a few months ago.  I think I'm being screened.

But eff him.  In the past few days, I've got more support and kindness from you guys than I have from Jason since I got here.  It makes me truely sorry I even left in the first place.

Wylders has made me an offer to come work for him.  It wouldn't be right away, and it will take him a while to build up a client base to really necessatate having me, but the offer is there.  Dragon has offered to take me in until I can get my own place... It will be crowded and aparently the water heater doesn't really work so much... and the fact that they themselves are in financial trouble doesn't matter to them, the offer is there.  And Mac has offered to tow my car because my tag is expired, and my drivers license is expired and my insurance is non-existant.  True, the hitch on the back of his car is Class A, and the hitch needed to tow my car is Class B, so if he tried, he'd probably rip the back end off of his car... but the offer was there.  :)

I'm selling everything I can this week via Craigslist, and I should be back down there by early next week.

I'm sorry I couldn't be more help, friend. I regret opening my mouth about towing your car back. I should have checked to see if I could even do it.
Seriously, drive safe, I'm rooting for you making it here, ... unescorted by lawmen.

I don't regret it.  It was a great gesture.  It may have gotten muddled, but the point of my post above was to demonstrate the generosity of my friends in this, my third darkest hour.

To answer the other posts, I'm going to need my car to get back to Tampa... which will be happening Monday.

Today, I'm updating my Craigslist ad for my yard sale tomorrow, and I'm thinking about stopping by Dragon*Con to donate blood and get the free t-shirt.  ;)
