PS3 is a better DVD player too
« on: March 25, 2010, 10:21:00 »
I had started watching a movie a couple days ago, the new G.I.Joe movie, which I thought was a pretty good action movie, especially if you just think of it as a new action movie rather than something based on the old cartoons. There are still some issues that I have with it, but anyway, the point of my blog here was for the PS3 as a movie machine. I think it's great. I found out that it will save your location in the movie even when turned off. That was pretty sweet to me, since we'd always have to leave our DVD player powered on if we stopped a movie part way through in order to easily pick up where we left off. Yesterday, while I was gone, my wife put in the NetFlix Streaming disc for the kids to watch something else, so I thought that my place would surely have been lost at that point. Last night, when I put the G.I.Joe disc in, I walked into the kitchen to grab something while I waited for it to load, expecting it to start over like my DVD player does. Much to my surprise, it went right back to where I had left off. Kudos to Sony on a great feature!
"Hello IT. Have you tried turning it off and on again? ... OK, well, the button on the side. Is it glowing?... Yeah, you need to turn it on. Err, the button turns it on. Yeah, you do know how a button works, don't you? No, not on clothes." - Roy (The IT Crowd)
