Turkey dinner before Thanksgiving
« on: November 24, 2009, 10:23:28 »
My wife has been clipping coupons quite a bit lately, since she talked to someone about how they save so much money by using coupons in conjunction with other deals. She got a nice little turkey from the store for $5. I didn't think much of it... just thinking that we'd probably have it in the freezer for a while. Well... she decided to cook it last night for dinner. It was great, just seems a little odd to be having turkey 3 days before we're getting stuff with turkey dinner at Thanksgiving.
"Hello IT. Have you tried turning it off and on again? ... OK, well, the button on the side. Is it glowing?... Yeah, you need to turn it on. Err, the button turns it on. Yeah, you do know how a button works, don't you? No, not on clothes." - Roy (The IT Crowd)

My first thought was for you to practice your carving. ;D

I am personally excited about getting to cut into my Tyson frozen dinner.

Kim and I are driving down to the Pier for dinner on Thursday. It's our first Thanksgiving alone in over 10 years.
We made reservations for the Columbia Restaurant at the Pier.
We went there for July 4th last year and really enjoyed being five stories in the air and dining with a beautiful view of the Bay.

I think turkey is good any time of year, just make time for a nap afterwards.

For me, cooked turkey is a once per year treat.  It's what make it special.   It's the only day of the year I have stuffing and cranberry sauce as well.

I do eat turkey on my sandwiches, but it's much different.
