My life compared to Memento
« on: September 02, 2008, 13:20:25 »
Labor Day weekend was not quite the carefree weekend that I had hoped. I had school work that I was planning to read through and hoped to work on some of my web projects too. Fortunately, I had a nice time talking with my friend Dave and got some game time in with friends Blain and Candace, but the weekend was a real depressing for me, especially Sunday.

My wife says that I go through periods of depression every year. I've been getting worse over the past couple weeks. She compared it to the movie Memento, although I'm not exactly sure why, since I can't ever seem to remember that I get this way. I got very depressed, feeling quite worthless. She said this is "normal" for me to go through. I'm not sure why. I can't find anything in previous blogs yet that point this out, although I do have a vague memory of her saying this happened the year before last.

Anyway, we played Wyatt Earp, which I'm currently borrowing from Wyldwing, with Candace and Blain a couple times. I won the first game by a long shot by nearly shutting everyone out of one round and taking a big reward in just 3 turns. The second game was much closer. I had to play a Hideout on Candace to keep her from claiming a $15,000 reward all for herself, but in the end Beth won, beating Blain by $2000 and leaving Candace and I with only $17,000 each. Everyone had fun and suggested that I should buy this game for myself.

"Hello IT. Have you tried turning it off and on again? ... OK, well, the button on the side. Is it glowing?... Yeah, you need to turn it on. Err, the button turns it on. Yeah, you do know how a button works, don't you? No, not on clothes." - Roy (The IT Crowd)
