1/10 scale turbo bandit
« on: September 03, 2012, 17:10:32 »
I started on a 1/10 scale red Bandit a while back but now im gonna see what i can do making a 1/10 black Bandit. Its gonna be based off the king cab/hilux monster racer with the traxxas trans and for wheels im gonna start with the SEE's vintage aluminums. I will post pictures as the build goes but heres what ive got to start with

It looks identical to my hobby converted outlaw

Run some tamiya hotshot tires and it would really pull off the look.

Yeah i would love to run those but they are an odd size wheel and there are no wheels i know of that they would fit on that would look like bandit wheels or fit on the king cab.

They are close to fitting 2.15" traxxas nitro street wheels that look just like bandit wheels but they shorter and fronts are too wide.

I just did the chrome decals and tomorrow im goin to hobby lobby to find the blue pink and purple decals to cut

If i dont have any luck i can get the guy at the sign shop to make them. Only costly thing is the art work to get them on the computer

So i went to the local hobbyshop who never has anything i need and just hit a homerun. Not hobby lobby, michaels or anywhere else had decals but this place had all the exact colors and they were only 3.00 each. Im gonna work on this all night to get it done. The stripes will be easy but the bandit letters will be a nightmare.

Gonna make a custom roll bar? Looks a little off on a 10th scale body. Spare wheel really look small.
Cant wait to see it with the grafixs.

Yeah after the decals are done im gonna make a roll bar and front bumper from aluminum tubing and polish it. The original just adds to the look for now. Im picking up a cutting board right now and about to go nuts on the stickers

It would really easy to do a raider. You can take any 1:10 scale stadium truck and the traxxas jato body looks really close to the raider. Then find some 6 spoke wheels and paint em yellow
