i dont think we ever got that one here.  it would look great in my edge runner collection.  yours is the only one ive seen actually.  i noticed it in your shot of all your cars together.  let me know if you ever get sick of looking at it ;D

interesting to note that this gyromax, which i believe was sold through the discovery channel stores in the mall, is without the taiyo name.  its marked leynian ltd. co.  so taiyo had what seems to be a rough end to its us sales.  i think the edgerunner may have been its final rc here.  cant be certain but if im right its a damn shame.  leynian ltd. no longer exists.  poof.  the end. :'(

lol, you know, i used a motorcycle detailer i use from the honda shop.  called "bike spirits".  that softened the spraypaint up.  then i mixed in a dab of mothers chrome and aluminum polish and i just buffed on it with my bare fingertip.  went over it 3 times like that and by the third time it looked like new.  i was afraid it would take off the factory paint and graphics but they held up through it.  i was surprised too by how well it came out.

I want to say the bandit is 14-15 mph and the fast traxx is about the same. I have a pretty acurate radar and could test them.

I was actually thinking about starting an official speed forum posting all the speeds

that would be a great sticky thread!  ill bet i could get my friend to run some of his collection with my gps strapped on.  i need to go recheck the edgerunner, i think it was 18 but its been awhile.

I actually tried to track some speeds today on my iphone with the gps app. Ive tried 3 but they all seem to be waaay off. The closest ive tried so far read out only 14mph on the enforcer and 8mph on the new bright 4wd hobby truck both running 11.1v lipo so i know its reading waaay low.

Im gonna try my bushnell radar tonight and see what it reads.  If all goes well i can start the speed thread and make a huge list of all the old cars and their speeds

yeah something not right there.  i use a garmin forerunner 201 that ive had for 5 or so years.   its always been spot on, you just need to give it a few seconds once you reach top speed to compensate for lag.  i set it to record max speed and send em off down the road.  id check it at least 3 times to get an average in case theres some variance in each run.

checked my edgerunner on my gps, it only got up to 12 mph.  its still super torquey with good ground clearance so doesnt slow much off road so i guess the gearing is the tradeoff.  its a wild chaotic machine anyway.  my dog still loves those things.  never gets old ;D
