Title: Mount Drago (2011)
Post by: TylerChuit on March 24, 2013, 20:47:44
Mount Drago is a racing game that is not really at all a racing game... not sure why I even classified it as that.  The dragons are racing each other, but that is not what is important to you.  Your goal is to be riding one of the best dragons when scoring happens.

Ten dragons lumber up the mountain.  By playing a card for one of the 10 different colors of dragon, you move it the appropriate number of spaces, and also hop on its back (unless another player is already riding it).  When any dragon lands on one of the special colored spaces, it triggers scoring.  The blue spaces cause dragons on low numbered spaces (3 or lower) to score, the green and red spaces cause all dragons to score.  You only get points for the dragon you're currently riding, so timing is everything  Once three dragons reach the red spaces at the summit of the mountain, the game ends and the player with the most points wins.

It's a pretty easy game to learn, and it's in the sweet spot in the combination of luck and strategy that I like in games like Backgammon, Dominoes and Robo Rally that allows new players to have a fairly good chance of holding their own against more experienced players.

This game is now available to play on www.yucata.de (http://www.yucata.de/en/GameInfo/MountDrago).  Feel free to invite me to a game if you're interested.  My user name there is, of course, TylerChuit.
